Chapter 7 Chaos Reigns

Across the Middle East, Sintac assault teams based in the capital cities of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, and Iran, made the final preparations to storm the cities of Kabul, Islamabad, Baghdad, and Tehran.

Tanks equipped with missile launchers positioned themselves around the capital of Afghanistan.

Motorized divisions numbering a total of two hundred lined up just outside the city, and everyone waited for the order to be given.

As the inhabitants of Kabul went about their daily lives, completely unaware as to the threat that lay just at their doorstep, Captain Yahontov of Kabul Assault Team picked up the mic from its holster on the dashboard of the Sintac heavy tank.

Pressing the push-to-talk button, he gave the order.

“Open fire.”

All at once, the tanks that surrounded Kabul unleashed their entire armament in the city. Cruise missiles soared up into the sky as high-explosive shells raced through the air and crashed down into the streets and buildings. As explosions, small and massive alike, sent showers of rubble and dirt flying up and raining back down on the ground, the trucks bearing a dozen soldiers each rumbled into the city, the men opening fire on everyone they saw as the trucks sped across the capital.

The constant barrage of cruise missiles stopped as the last thirty exploded around Kabul City Center. As the tanks began to roll into the city, raging fires sent billowing columns of smoke spiraling upwards amidst the ash and debris that floated through the air.

Families hurried away on foot and in their cars to reach the other side of the city as airliners at Hamid Karzai International prepared to fly civilians out of the city, only to be shot down by anti-aircraft guns mounted on the tanks.

As the tanks continued to fire randomly on the city, the soldiers jumped down from the trucks and began filling the streets and back alleys.

Amidst the gunfire and explosions, government officials called the commanding officer of Bagram Air Base for aid against a large-scale terrorist attack. Immediately, all regiments stationed at the military installation were airlifted by CH-47 Chinooks as fully armed C-130 Hercules gunships and CH-47 Chinooks as Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit bombers were dispatched to make quick work of the attackers’ machines of war, as described by Kabul officials, and take out most of the men on foot.

As the Sintac army ravaged the landscape of Kabul, tank shells exploded in the ground and brought buildings crumbling to the ground.

As Sintac’s next-generation tanks crushed cars in the street, explosions dotted the roads as the tank shell barrage continued.

Suddenly, a formation of B-2 Spirit bombers arrived over the city. Surveying the scene, the aircraft reformed into a square and carpet-bombed the entire city with dozens of CBU-105 Sensor Fuzed cluster bomb units, careful to avoid, as best as possible, the area where civilians had amassed, slowly being boxed in by hostile forces that marched on them from every direction.

In seconds, a series of explosions ignited a field of fire across the city and enraged the flames that were already beginning to engulf the western wing of Kabul.
